I know a thing or two about those.
People take/end up in career breaks for many reasons.
Here are some of them:
✅ You quit!
✅ You moved to a new location
✅ Your role got made redundant/your contract ended
✅ You sold your business
✅ You took parental leave (now you know why there’s a pic of me and my little girl)
✅ You took a sabbatical
✅ Your health suffered so you ended up on long-term sick leave
I’ve experienced 6/7 of these. Some of them more than once.
4 of my career breaks were really fun and invigorating. Others were stressful and draining. The ONLY difference between the two was this…
The times it felt fun was when I knew what I was going to be doing AFTER the break…and was excited about it.
If you’re on a career break and you don’t know what’s next it can leave you feeling anxious, a bit lost and lonely.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt in every size and colour!
A good place to start if you’re on a career break and you’re not sure what’s next is to ask yourself some really good questions. Here are some I prepared for you earlier - https://www.yescareercoaching.com/10careerchangequestions
Even better than that, join a small community of people who are all in the same (or at least similar) boat as you and want clarity…and fast! - https://www.yescareercoaching.com/p2p
